Long Live The King: an 18th century wood fan, the guards polished, the head bulbous, mounted with a double paper leaf, c 1790, the recto decorated with a stipple engraving , a medallion portrait of George III with crown above, within a star, around the medallion is inscribed “Long Live The King”, one example is held in the Schreiber collection, another in the Fan Museum, Greenwich, London, both of which differ slightly in decoration to this example, this having gold foil flowers applied around the star, the verso is plain, guard approx. 27.5 cm (Shipping category C)
