A small Chinese folding fan, Qing Dynasty, the monture of carved bone, the white gauze leaf embroidered with a floral spray and a butterfly in flight, contained in a fitted Chinese fan box, lacquered in aubergine and decorated in gold, the inner lid lined in turquoise silk painted with flowers and an exotic bird, guard approx. 17.5 cm; together with a Chinese wood handle covered in cinnabar red, decorated with a dwelling and vegetation, with small round hole at the top and open at the lower end (2 + box)

Slight loss to the box, and the interior fitting is for a slightly longer fan. One fold is starting to split on the fan leaf, the covering on the handle is starting to become loose.
