A Mid-19th century Chinese Mandarin fan, Qing Dynasty, the monture of carved bone, the double-sided leaf featuring a large gathering of court officials to the recto, with applied silk robes and painted ivory faces, the background in strong blue painted with blooms, butterflies and exotic birds, contained in a fitted fan box with black lacquer exterior, decorated in gold, the inside of the lid with silk panel painted with flowers and buds, guard approx. 27.5 cm (1 + box) ivory exemption number CYRE4JE3
