Three 19th century lace fan: A large 1890’s black hand-made lace fan with three painted gauze inserted panels, the central panel portraying an 18th century lady playing music to her suitor, the monture of pink mother of pearl, the side panels painted with tokens of love, guard approx. 32.5 cm; together with a smaller, white mother of pearl fan with Brussels bobbin lace enclosing three silk gauze panels painted with Lily of the Valley and other delicate blooms, and a final fan, gilded wood monture, carved and pierced, the embroidered net leaf worked with a central initial M (?) Slight splitting to the gauze on the first fan and one small area of damage to the lace, top left edge. Repair to the upper section of the lower guard. Splitting to the painted panels on the second fan. The third fan leaf is almost detached and the rear gauze layer is distressed
