Four late 19th century fans: the first quite simple, French, wood monture,
The paper leaf inscribed with the date of 24th Avril 1897 and the place La ???? and perhaps the printer’s stamp Dugrenot Paris, the recto engraved with Cupid with his arrows to the side of a winged painter, and three ladies in flowing robes, possibly the Three Graces, guard approx. 35 cm; a plain wood fan, mounted with a pale sea-green silk satin leaf painted with birds, guard approx. 33 cm; a third wood fan, painted gold , the gauze leaf with a pair of birds looking towards a lighted balcony adorned with climbing flowers, guard approx. 35 cm, and a fan mounted with black machine lace, and A/F (4) (Shipping category C)

More Information

The first fan has rubbed paint and a slight dent at the top of the upper guard, with one small tear to one fold on the dated side. The third fan has splits to the leaf which is detached from the upper guard.
