AN ART DECO WALNUT, EBONY AND ROSEWOOD INLAID BEDROOM SUITE of radiating veneers centred with concentric circles of ebony, mother of pearl, rosewood, figured walnut, boxwood and harewood, the whole crossbanded with ebony and rosewood 'petal' and scalloped borders, ivory turned handles and escutcheons, on square section and collared legs, comprising a three door wardrobe of arched outline fitted with pull slides, drawers and hanging compartment, two of the three doors mirror lined, on plinth base with square feet, dressing table having triple mirrors above four drawers across, drawer to the kneehole and two further drawers to either side, on square legs joined by rising stretchers together with a stool, compactum comprising three small drawers, above two drawers and two door cupboard below, bedside cupboard with a drawer and cupboard below, double bedstead with head and footboard (no irons as adapted for use with a divan), pair of bedroom chairs and a mirror of irregular octagonal form, wardrobe 185cm wide x 60cm deep x 207cm high, dressing table 127cm wide x 57cm deep, compactum 84cm wide x 50cm deep x 110cm high, bed 140cm wide, bedside cupboard 36cm, mirror 60cm high x 79cm wide, ivory exemption certificate no 59CTH5ZC

Chair A: The outer frame of the back has one mother-of-pearl motif missing and small bit of the other. There are sections of veneer missing to the back and corner of the seat rail.
Chair B: Pieces of veneer missing to the back and seat rail. Top rail joints have opened and so is a bit loose.
Stool: A small amount of veneer is missing to the seat rail. Seat needs re-webbing and upholstering.
Dressing Table: Left hand side mirror has several spots of silvering showing. The middle and right hand mirror are clean. Surface is without damage. Legs and stretchers are in good order. There is a small flat oval finial to the right hand stretchers, this is loose.
Bedside Cabinet: Surface has light wear. Left hand side looks pale from sunlight and there are two vertical cracks to the front and back on both side panels.
Headboard: There is a chip to the patterned veneer top border far left. Centre motif half diamond veneer is missing.
Footboard: the mother-of-pearl is lifting on the left hand side. Vertical water mark to the right hand side, approx. 9cm
Wall mirror: Two marks of silvering on the lower edge otherwise clean.
Compactum: Surface is in good order. The front is in good order apart from the mother-of-pearl motif is lifting on the left. The crossbanding around the doors has white broken lines in the grain. Left hand side looks paler - fading?
Wardrobe: The mother-of-pearl motifs are a lifting. Fading on the right hand side door and lower section of the middle door. Right hand side has a fine split running from the top border which has been partially wax-filled. Ivory escutcheon on the left door is chipped. Overall suite is in good order.
