Three very different paper fans, the first a Jenny Lind or Palmette fan, the separate paper panels forming a scene of buildings and a river over a bridge, with Poirot serenading two other characters, possibly Colombina to the left and another character from the Commedia Dell’arte, the relief quite pronounced, marked as Brevété SGDG ( patent without government guarantees, in France) and Déposé, and additionally the initials B M, simple painted wood sticks, overall height approx. 21.5 cm: together with a paper fan in fontange form printed with a cowboy and a Spanish dancer, c 1920’s, mounted à l’anglaise with no rear decoration,; and a double-leafed paper fan advertising the Palace Theatre, London. W., signed R.S. Matthews and marked B. G. Vienna, c 1903, guard approx. 24 cm (3)
The Jenny Lind fan has a section missing to the top of one panel, and one section needs to be restrung. The third fan has a break on the upper guard by the rivet.
