An 18th century Band Sampler dated May the 24th, 1789, by Sarah ?rarrant, longer than normal due to the addition of a lower section containing examples of different stitches and drawn work, the upper sections alpha-numeric in increasing sizes, followed by a faded verse, all in wool threads, approx. 64 cm by 20cm; together with an earlier Band sampler, known to be Quaker, cut into two and made into a pouch, worked in wool thread, with the alphabet, a band of strawberries, and verses, many words indistinct, approx. 19 cm by 23cm each side.(2) (Shipping category C)
