GRAHAM'S VINTAGE PORT 1945 1 Bottles. 75cl . Level 1 Mid-Low neck. Wax seal not intact. Cork still effective.
A legendary wine from a legendary Port vintage. All 1945 vintage ports were bottled in Oporto with whatever bottles were available. Quantities were small and there was initially little demand post-war. Now a pale, mature russet colour it will still be capable of exciting.

More Information

This bottle is the final bottle of an early 1960’s purchase of two dozen bottles by a Yorkshire wine merchant - now retired. The wine was purchased from Warwick & Richardsons Ltd, Newark when the brewery was purchased by John Smith’s Tadcaster and their stocks sold. The wine was stored in the same location in a cool cellar until a house move in 2003. Some of the bottles were professionally re-waxed/sealed in the 70’s but, according to the owner, were liable to damage some years later as the wine aged. As noted this vintage was bottled in Sherry bottles as a result of post-war shortages
