The 18th century: a very classical folding fan, the double paper leaf with central cartouche showing a lady holding a red rose, being pursued by a suitor at the riverside, the reserves being delicately painted with roses and other flowers and leaves against a speckled ground, the verso with a simple flower spray, the monture of bone silvered to the upper guards, guard approx. 27 cm; together with a fan with pierced wood monture, with fairly bulbous head, the double paper leaf decoupé, featuring a chinoiserie design of robed figures and delicately painted flowers, guard approx. 28 cm (2) (Shipping category C)
