A MID 17TH CENTURY OAK BOARDED CHEST, the single plank top over the carved front, incised demi-lunes, on shaped trestle end panels, with angle brackets, iron lock plate, 110cm wide x 38cm deep x 60cm high

The top has numerous ring marks and splashes. It has small filled areas around the knots. There is an open crack virtually the full width in the middle of the top.
The Front - Crack running horizontally from the right hand side. General knocks and scratches. Lock replaced, old pin holes visible. Later strap hinges. Left hand panel has chip off back foot. Right hand panel has big knot filled and signs of old worm holes around the feet.
Back board has a crack from left to right through the middle.
