A Chinese lacquer brisé fan, Qing dynasty, nineteen inner sticks and two guards, the black lacquer decorated with gold, some traces of a red layer present, c 1830/40’s, the narrow gorge with a leaf design, the rounded tips with leaves and possibly fruits, the central panel with four complete borders containing depictions of mountains, buildings and figures, some on a boat on a river, the verso with a different scene, guard approx. 20 cm.
A clean fan with good colour. Requires a new ribbon.
