C 1840’s a Chinese carved tortoiseshell brisé fan, with original box stamped with the name TugShing, covered in patterned green silk and bearing the initials G H, the fan with two intricately carved guards and 21 sticks, the rounded tips each containing a figure involved in various activities, one with a dog, another holding an open fan, the central bordered main panel, above quite a small gorge, is filled with figures and buildings, guard approx. 17 cm (Shipping category C)
Sides of some sticks nibbled. Ribbon defective. Some slight loss to carving/slivers. Box fragile but label and initials clear.
