Fees

18th to 20th century brisé fans: a c 1820’s tortoiseshell fan with pointed sticks, pierced, alternate sticks painted with flower heads, barrel heads; together with a similar fan, of pale horn, attractively pierced, barrel head; a plain and simple celluloid brisé; a smaller celluloid brisé with mottled effect, some gold detail and scalloped tips; a typical Victorian fan with cut paper detail, some sticks painted with flowers, with four panels printed with expressions of Love; and a Regency fan tube in pale green with gold trimming, the base approx. 14.5 cm, the lid 5cm (6) (Shipping category D)

More Information

The first fan is slightly warped and the ribbon requires replacing. The horn fan has a break to one guard and the ribbon is currently too tight, one stick missing part of a tip. The cut paper fan is not perfect. The fan box lid only butts up to the base, does not overlap.
