Five c 1890’s fans plus an assortment of tourist and other fans: a large bone fan, the leaf a good heavy cream silk, backed in cream, the recto painted with a spray of apple blossom and leaves, guard approx. 38 cm; together with a gauze fan with wood monture painted lemon, the leaf featuring moths, highlighted in gold and embellished with tiny gold beads, guard approx. 34 cm; a smaller lemon painted fan, the gauze leaf shaped, painted with flowers and leaves in shades of yellow, embellished with tiny gold sequins, guard approx. 23.5 cm; another large fan, the monture of dark wood with gilding and silvering to both guards, the aubergine gauze leaf, with matching silk tassel, is painted with two robins regarding a clump of wild blackberries, the flowers and fruits present; guard approx. 35 cm; the fifth fan is well painted with bearded Iris in shades of grey and cream, the gauze leaf cream and with the addition of cream machine lace, guard approx. 35 cm; and an additional 8 fans, two being wood brisés, one a faun feather fan for a young girl, two advertising, including one for the Grand Hotel Trafalgar Square London WC; one cockade with metal monture, and four oriental fans either mounted on bone or wood (13) (Shipping category D)
The first three fans are in very good condition. Fan 4 has one broken rib and the leaf needs to be resecured to the bottom edge. Fan 5 has a broken upper guard and the leaf is beginning to split at the side of this. Slight issues with a few of the additional eight fans
