£800
A Canton Chinese filagree silver-gilt metal and enamel brisé fan, c 1830, the design of buildings flowers and foliage in blue and green enamel, with a central feature in gilt, of two fighting cocks, twenty-two inner sticks and part of one guard, guard approx. 20 cm.
The major part of one guard is missing. The other guard is likely to be missing; it appears that two inner sticks have been soldered together to create one much thicker and thus more sturdy replacement. Note the slot on the outside of this “guard”. One gorge stick needs to be welded near to the rivet; it is holding but damaged. The ribbon requires replacement.
