Cherubs at Play: a large late 19th century Brussels bobbin lace fan, the leaf with a central gauze cartouche painted with cherubs, one bashfully hiding behind a gold metal hand mirror, two further gauze vignettes featuring cherubs, the upper leaf worked with unusually large and decorative leaves, the monture of pink mother of pearl, gilded to the upper guard and gorge, guard approx. 35 cm.
Slight rubbing to the paint but the gauze is strong.
