A good 18th century needle work sampler, dated 1792 in three places, alpha-numeric with the addition of silk embroidered bands of crowns, flowers, trees, reindeer, done by Ann Robinson aged 14 years, with five sections of text, the first being “Hear counsel and receive instruction, that Thou mayest be wise in thy latter end””, framed and glazed, approx. 33.5 cm by 44.5 cm including the narrow frame. In good condition, at the very bottom the fabric has some nibbles, virtually obscured by the edge of the frame.
