A JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE, Meiji period, the inverted baluster body with flowering branches of hydrangea, a small bee on a flower head, the leaves in shaded (bokashi) enamels, on a mid-blue ground with stiff leaf border to the foot, 13.5cm high
There is one small blemish on the edge of a leaf, the area is smooth and even to the touch, no loss of enamel (see photo). In the blue ground there is a tiny spot of bruising, shows as a speck of a lighter colour. There is a similar speck to the shoulder, a tiny scratch and another tiny speck lower down. You have to look closely to see these tiny marks. No restoration.
