Fine 19th century ribbon work and embroidery: Seven items/examples of a lady’s handiwork, as follows: A soft kid belt worked with ribbonwork flowers and leaves, embellished with tiny sequins and silk thread, approx. 71 cm by 7.5 cm at the widest point; a cream gauze panel worked with ribbonwork and silk threads, approx. 44 cm by 32cm; a fragment of 19th c silk embroidery on silk, of flowers and leaves, approx. 24 cm by 9.5 cm; another fragment on yellow silk backed with gauze, approx. 36 cm by 11 cm; a vibrant yellow silk satin panel worked with silks and metal threads, embellished with sequins, approx. 54 cm by 44 cm; a deconstructed ladies waistcoat panel with extensive embroidery and embroidered buttons, and a lightweight wool panel in ruby, embroidered in silks with flowers, leaves and tendrils, backed with cotton, approx. 58 cm by 19cm, ruby panel measured. The belt has slight tarnish/rust to sequins and threads. Item 2 has been in a frame previously, nail holes noted in the outer border.
