Four 19th century fans with bone montures: A Jenny Lind or Palmette fan, the monture pierced, the leaf panels of an uncommon rainbow shading, the top sections printed with a rose garland, the verso plain, height approx. 23 cm; together with a folding fan with pierced monture, the cream glazed cotton leaf painted with roses and leaves; a similar fan with monture embossed with flowers and leaves, the glazed cotton leaf featuring a lady in Eastern costume posing coyly near a stone balustrade, the verso interestingly divided into two colourways and painted with climbing roses; and a pierced bone fan, the monture inset with silver roundels, the double paper leaf adorned with silver sequins (4)
In generally good used condition. The tip of the upper guard on the Palmette fan is missing, and the string linking 2 leaf panels is broken .
