Five late 19th century /early 20th century fans: The first, of black wood, serpentine sticks, is mounted with black gauze, painted with a cluster of small birds on a branch, others arriving, embroidered with silver sequins guard approx. 24.5 cm, contained in a card fan box with gold decoration to the lid; together with a mid-19th century fan, the wide, carved and pierced sticks of wood painted in gold, the silk leaf of mid-green embroidered with gold sequins and spangles, guard approx. 27 cm; a slender bone fan, likely early 19th century, the monture carved and pierced, the double-sided cream silk leaf very delicately and classically painted with large urns, swags and sprays of flowers, ribbons, and further embroidered with tiny silver sequins, the verso being plain, guard approx. 24 cm; a black wood fan, incised and inlaid, the gauze leaf applied with machine lace and netting to form floral sprays, and applied with silver sequins, guard approx. 24 cm; and a plain green Jenny Lind or Palmette fan
The earliest fan has a split leaf to the side of the upper guard but the section is present.
