Twelve fans C 1890 – 1910: A plain gold silk fan, mounted on wood painted chocolate brown; a good wood fan, the sticks lightly carved and painted, the sturdy silk satin leaf in light ginger, painted with blossom, a dragonfly approaching, the verso plain tan cotton, guard approx. 34 cm; a folding fan with black cotton leaf and black wood monture, painted with pink daisies; a cream silk fan applied with machine lace and painted in pastels with dainty flowers; a brown wood fan with elegant gilding, the red paper leaf painted in gold recto/verso with calligraphy; a stained wood fan mounted with a black fabric leaf, painted with a large moth approaching pink and white carnations, guard approx. 36 cm; a large paper fan depicting the Feria de Sevilla, with detailed costume and the Giraldo in the background; two white gauze and lace bone fans; a bone fan mounted with cream cotton, the upper edge trimmed with marabou; a cream bone fan mounted with cream gauze featuring floral sprays and birds in flight; and a black wood fan, the monture decorated in gold, the silk satin leaf colourfully painted with small birds perched on a flowering tree, another approaching, the verso of glazed cotton (12)
The three cream gauze fans each have slight damage to the leaf. The cream silk fan has one stick broken by the rivet. The pink daisy fan lacks the lower guard. The stained wood fan is complete but the leaf fold next to the upper guard has lifted.
