AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY ELM SETTLE, having a five panel curved back, the base with lift up lid to the seat, over conforming panels, full panel side arms, 158cm wide x 43cm deep x 137cm high
Back panels are all in good condition. The left hand seat panel is two thirds split from seat edge. The hinged middle section has a full crack down right hand side. Left fixed seat is constructed from two panes unlike that an left (which is one). The first has a two thirds split from back. The far right panel has a full crack mid point. Right hand side arm panel has a joint that has opened and the same on the left both full length. Structure is strong and stable. The condition is good overall and the above points commensurate with age. Good colour and patination. Old worm holes to lower back panels. The hole inside bottom has been replaced by ply board.
