Both paintings have craquelure across the canvas. There is no paint loss. The canvas has been re-lined and is stable. There is a degree of overpainting mainly to the edges. In the scene off the coast - the overpainting is mainly to the bottom left hand corner and along the edge towards the right. The top left hand corner has been touched up and several small areas in the sea. The ship in stormy waters - has been overpainted in all four corners, in the sea to the right and partially along the edges. There is a light vertical line of craquelure to the left side. The image is 18cm x 30cm without frame, with frame it is 29cm x 41cm
